New Initiative Launched for Early Career Brain Injury Professionals

BRAIN INJURY FELLOWSHIP
Thanks to a generous grant from the Seaton Foundation, the North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS) has expanded the Charles W. Haynes PAY IT FORWARD Brain Injury Fellowship for young professionals starting their career in the field of brain injury.
The Fellowship recognizes promising new professionals that best promote the NABIS mission of advancing brain injury services, treatment and outcomes through innovative clinical, research and/or policy initiatives.
Award & Research Presentation
Each Fellowship recipient will receive a cash award of $1000 to support their travel and registration to attend the 13th Annual Conference on Brain Injury that will take place April 6-9, 2016, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tampa, Florida. NABIS anticipates that 10 Fellowships will be awarded to attend the Conference.
Fellowship recipients will present their work at specially recognized sessions during the general conference as either a short oral presentation or as a poster.

To be considered for this award, applicants must have entered the field of brain injury research, rehabilitation, or treatment within the last 5 years as demonstrated through academic degree matriculation, a verifiable change in professional focus (e.g., such as moving from primarily serving with other specific impairments, into brain injury), or other demonstration of residency in the field. Applicants will be notified via email if their application is accepted for this Fellowship.
A check in the amount of $1000.00 will be presented to each Fellowship recipient at the 2016 meeting. Winners will also have the registration fee of $520.00 waived, which includes complimentary registration to the Pre-Conference Symposia, the General Conference, and all scheduled conference meals and social events.
