What Can We Learn From Sports Concussion Literature?  


Dr. Kelly completed his residency in general surgery and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was an Assistant/Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and a member of the full-time academic faculty at the Tulane University, Department of Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La from 1982 through 1986. He started Cardiothoracic Surgery, PC in 1986 to service North Central Indiana where they are the only providers of Cardiothoracic surgical procedures in #3 hospitals. In 2011, he started the Advanced Center for Thoracic Surgery which does multidisciplinary Thoracic Surgical Oncology in Indiana. Dr. Kelly completed his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in December, 2007, and he started a company, Cascade Partners, LLC which does strategy consulting for surgical device companies and invests in innovative, disruptive medical/surgical device therapies. He continues as president and principle. He sits on four boards for non-for-profit medically related entities in Indiana and Chicago including the Northwestern University School of Medicine and Indiana University School of Medicine – South Bend
